MOREHEAD CITY — An East Carolina University professor will discuss the effects of climate change in eastern North Carolina during a presentation set for 7-8:30 p.m. Monday, March 27.
There’s no cost to attend the the lecture, “Climate Change: Science and Impacts in Eastern North Carolina,” to be held at Joslyn Hall at Carteret Community College in Morehead City.
Rosana Nieto Ferreira, an associate professor of atmospheric science, will discuss how climate change effects the region and answer audience questions. She is an award-winning professor, a member of the American Meteorological Society, editor of the Journal of Climate and has authored 23 peer-reviewed scientific studies.
The event is sponsored by the Citizen’s Climate Lobby, the Sierra Club’s Croatan chapter, Carteret County Crossroads and Interfaith Power & Light.
Doors will open at 6 p.m. with light refreshments served.
