Coastal Review Online is a publication of the N.C. Coastal Federation, a non-profit that works to protect, preserve and enhance water quality and natural habitats of the N.C. coast.

  • To provide people and groups with the assistance needed to take an active role in the stewardship of North Carolina’s coastal water quality and natural resources.

What Is the Federation

Since its grassroots formation in 1982 the federation is the state’s only  501(c)(3) non-profit organization that focuses exclusively on protecting and restoring the coast of North Carolina through education, advocacy and habitat preservation and restoration.

Staff and Volunteers

More than 30 professionals, including scientists, a lobbyist, educators, journalists, planners and others make up the staff. The federation has more than 1,200 student and adult volunteers and has partnered with more than 150 other organizations.

Location

The headquarters is in Ocean, N.C., halfway between Morehead City and Swansboro. Other offices are located in Manteo and Wrightsville Beach.
