President-elect Trump’s staff is preparing to cut budgets for agencies across the board, including renewable energy and carbon-reduction programs, The Hill reported Thursday.
The Trump Administration plans to eliminate the Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy at the Department of Energy. The office’s mission is to put the U.S. at the forefront of a global clean energy economy.
In addition, plans are said to be in the works to also eliminate the Office of Fossil Energy in the Energy Department, which advances carbon capture and storage technologies and develops solutions for sustainable oil and gas resources.
