BEAUFORT — A Duke University researcher who uses drones to observe marine mammals in Antarctica will present his work to the public at Carteret County Library in Beaufort on March 22.
The presentation, called “Drone Antarctica: A Top Down View From the Bottom of the Earth,” will feature Dave Johnston, an assistant professor at Duke University Marine Lab. He recently went to Antarctica as part of an ongoing program to study marine mammals and conservation issues off waters near the continent.
The presentation will begin at 6 p.m. and last an hour. The event is free and open to the public.
