Commissioner voted 4-1 in favor of the resolution Wednesday with Commissioner Fred Fulcher opposed.
Fulcher said he didn’t see an issue, particularly with seismic testing, and that offshore oil and gas deposits should be located for the benefit of future generations.
More than 130 East Coast municipalities and nearly 1,200 local, state and federal officials have formally opposed offshore drilling and/or seismic exploration, according to the group Oceana.
