BOLIVIA — An organizational meeting of the Bald Head Island Ferry Transportation Authority will meet at 9 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 14, in the David R. Sandifer County Administration Building training room, 30 Government Center Drive NE.
The meeting is open to the public.
This will be the first meeting of the ferry transportation authority.
In July 2017, Gov. Roy Cooper signed the Senate Bill 391, An Act To Authorize The Creation Of A Ferry Transportation Authority, “to authorize creation of an Authority to provide reliable and safe public ferry transportation services in its service area.”
As a result of the bill, the once privately run ferry is now under the management of Brunswick County government.
