NAGS HEAD — Inspired by Earth Day efforts, officials here have organized a competitive town-wide cleanup through April 30.
Town officials distributed information about the contest Sunday during a North Carolina Coastal Federation Earth Day event.
A Nags Head resident or property owner could win a $25 gift certificate to a Nags Head business of their choice.
Participants must clean up an area of town by April 30 and send photos to the town, which is offering prizes to those who pick up the most litter and the person who finds the weirdest item.
To participate, take a photo of the litter, include information on where it was picked up and submit the photo and information by Monday to michelle.gray@nagsheadnc.gov.
