Born Aug. 22, a filly, the newest addition to the Corolla wild horse herd, stands with her mother just after her birth in this photo by Cathy Forgnone. The Corolla Wild Horse Fund, or CWHF, announced Monday the birth of the filly, this year’s fifth foal, at Swan Beach. The horses roam on about 7,500 acres of habitat north of the paved section of N.C. 12, and are managed by the CWHF.
