WRIGHTSVILLE BEACH — The North Carolina Coastal Federation is kicking off its 2019 Southeast Coastal Ambassador Training Feb. 27 at the Fred and Alice Stanback Coastal Education Center, 309 W. Salisbury St.
The training, which will focus on outreach efforts and volunteer events, begins with an orientation for new members at 5:30 p.m. followed by the 6 p.m. focusing on engaging, training and updating new and current ambassadors about the planned outreach efforts for the year.
Registration for the training is required and can be done online.
“These volunteers have become invaluable members of our team. I hope to continue this program and create a team of ambassadors that best represent the federation and can educate our community to create a more economic and environmentally successful environment,” said Bonnie Mitchell, southeast coastal outreach specialist, in a statement.
There are Coastal Ambassador training meetings held each month, alternating between day field meetings and night programs. Ambassadors must attend five training meetings per year and participate in a minimum of three federation events.
