RALEIGH — The state Department of Environmental Quality says it’s reexamining its public participation practices to conduct the people’s business in a more open and transparent way that reaches an increasingly diverse population amid a changing media landscape.
DEQ said Tuesday it is accepting public comment through Sept. 18 on draft plans for public participation and reaching those who speak a language other than English. All comments received by the close of the comment period will be considered as the final versions of the plans are completed.
The public is invited to comment by email to firstname.lastname@example.org or mail comments to North Carolina Department of Environmental Quality, Attn: Renee Kramer, 217 West Jones St., 1646 Mail Service Center, Raleigh, N.C. 27699-1646.
