GASTON — The state Department of Environmental Quality’s Division of Air Quality is set to hold a meeting and public hearing Tuesday on a draft permit for Enviva Pellets Northampton LLC.
The company has applied to modify the existing permit to install air pollution control equipment at the wood pellet production plant and reclassify it once the equipment is operational. The facility has also requested approval to increase production.
The meeting will be at 6:30 p.m., followed by the public hearing at 7 p.m., at the Northampton County High School, 152 Hurricane Drive.
Interested parties will have the opportunity to ask questions during the public meeting and provide written or oral comment during the hearing.
The public comment period on the draft permit runs through Aug. 23. Comments can be submitted via email to email@example.com. Type “Enviva Northampton.18A” in the subject line.
