A quasi-judicial hearing is being held 6:30 p.m. Wednesday for a setback variance on a previously approved solar project in Washington County.
Albemarle Beach Solar LLC applied for the variance to reduce the current minimum setback requirement from 300 feet from neighboring residential property boundaries in the absence of written consent by the neighboring property owners to 100 feet for all or a substantial portion of all of the property associated with the already approved project, according county officials.
Due to the recent impacts of COVID-19, and the need to maintain social distancing, the public can livestream the hearing and meeting being held in the Washington County Courthouse in Plymouth, on the Washington County Facebook Page.
The public hearing and board of adjustment meeting is being held by the Washington County Board of Commissioners serving in their capacity as the Washington County Board of Adjustment.
The project consists of multiple parcels east of the intersection of Mackey’s Road and Woodlawn Road and are described in more detail in the application available for public inspection at the Washington County Planning Department. An electronic copy of the application can also be found on the county website.
